Our Mission

Our Belief

Voices Rock Canada (VRC) is an inclusive and joyful musical community – a place to connect, engage, learn and have fun! We believe singing together maintains mental health and wellness, and brings like-minded people together. VRC is a charitable foundation, and always endeavours toward creating social connection & a sense of community. We hope that VRC members find connection and friendship with each other, with the wider community, and most importantly, with their own creative selves.

What We Offer

Voices Rock Canada builds modern “choirs for the 21st century,” for ages 9-99! We provide an exceptional choral experience with professional, structured direction and exciting, original arrangements of contemporary rock and pop repertoire.

Our season aligns with the school year and is divided into two semesters, with each semester culminating in a concert showcase. Our showcases are fully-amplified, all take place at professional performance venues, and are accompanied by a rock band of top-tier professional musicians.

VRC currently hosts the following choirs:

VOICES ROCK KIDS: Grades 5-12

VOICES ROCK MEDICINE: Women Physicians

VOICES ROCK PRIME: Retirees and Seniors (daytime choir)

VOICES ROCK ENSEMBLE: Adults, age 18+

What Makes Us Different

We believe so strongly in the power of genuine connections in creating a beautiful sound – that’s why we limit the number of members in each choir, keeping the groups intimate. This is how we make sure that our communities stay connected, with all members learning each other’s names and getting to know one another. Ultimately, we want our singers to feel seen & feel safe, supported and free to express their unique voices.

Voices Rock Canada is a registered Canadian charity, #7980 0097 RT0001. Approximately 85% of our costs are covered by membership fees. We rely on donations, both corporate and personal to offset our operating costs. A charitable tax receipt is issued for every donation over twenty-five dollars.

Land Acknowledgement

Voices Rock Canada is proud to be part of a rich history of music, art and education in this province. We acknowledge the land we are gathering on is the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat and the Anishinabe Algonquin First Nations. We respect the rights, legacy, history, culture and traditions of all First Peoples of Canada. We are uninvited guests to this land and through treaties, we acknowledge that we are allowed to stay here, provided we respect the land, water and share the resources. Voices Rock Canada embraces the land, water, creatures and humans that are still home to many Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island; we are sincerely grateful to be able to live, work, walk, dance and sing within these communities.
